Artist Statement
I cut paper to abstract the natural world and reflect on human roles in ecology. By depicting graphic silhouettes with delicate, ephemeral cut paper, I hope to create a tension between natural beauty and my building anxiety for how we manipulate our environments. Using one plane of paper to create images through positive and negative space creates a sense of interconnectedness and sometimes chaos. I find inspiration in shimmering silhouettes, unfettered growth and the boundless wilderness
